FAQS
ARCHI was formed in 2011 by individuals and organizations committed to upstream, cross-sector work that includes many disciplines under one umbrella working collectively to create and sustain a healthy population, which in turn will help drive a vibrant economy in Atlanta. Since ARCHI’s inception the Atlanta Regional Commission, the Georgia Health Policy Center at Georgia State University, and the United Way of Greater Atlanta have led the work as a trio, governed by a collaborative agreement. A volunteer steering committee began meeting to provide guidance, oversight, and ongoing financial support. The first partner breakfast was held in July of 2012.
ARCHI seeks to facilitate coordinated commitments and actions from organizational leaders that are committed to ARCHI’s vision and mission through becoming a partner. Each partner must also agree to adhere to the expectations outlined in the partner agreement.
ARCHI staff work in a variety of capacities to advance the ARCHI priorities including convening partners, providing data, synthesizing the evidence, engaging partners to align activities and investments, measuring progress on key indicators, and communicating with investors, partners, and stakeholders.

Through a participatory process using the ReThink Health Systems Dynamics model in 2012, ARCHI identified the Atlanta Transformation Scenario as the chosen set of intervention areas and funding mechanisms. The scenario includes seven priority areas: fostering healthier behaviors, creating pathways for advantage for families and students, improving care coordination and improving access to insurance coverage. The financing mechanisms include an innovation portfolio, contingent global payment, capture and reinvest. For additional details regarding the priorities please review this page of the website.
